Stretching


IsoStrength Stretch Device Do’s

  • Wear clothing that is comfortable for working out and assume your stretching position.
  • For IsoStrength Travel, unzip the self-packing case and proceed to flip and re-zip the case to serve as the foot holder for the device. Place one foot on the flat foot portion of your device of choice while holding the upper strap handle. Pull back the handle gently to secure your footing. To appropriately stretch the hamstrings, grip the sides of the blue tubular webbing and pull in a method most comfortable for you.
  • For stretching the calf muscle on IsoStrength Travel, hold the blue handle that runs vertically above the shin area and pull back gently until a point of mild tension.
  • For stretching the upper body’s muscles use the IsoStrength Lite and follow the coaching instructions.
  • Breathe naturally, deeply and slowly as you stretch.
  • For a more effective stretch use our ISS Technique as described on the exercise home page.
  • When stretching both the calf and hamstring pull back on the device until a point of mild tension (not pain) and hold that position for 10 seconds. Extend hold time by a few seconds each week until you can hold a stretch for at least 30 seconds. Repeat three times for each area. 
  • Repeat stretching sequence for the other leg.

  • Do not jerk or make unorthodox maneuvers while stretching. This is the most common reason for injuries while stretching.
  • If you begin to feel mild discomfort while stretching, stop immediately! When you reach the point where you feel mild tension, relax and hold the stretch. If you are tight and not flexible, don’t let this stop you from stretching. Do a little every day and slowly increase your stretch ability and you will see results.
  • Be consistent. Stretching for a few minutes each day will gradually build flexibility and range of motion.
  • Stretching in a non-routine manner every few weeks or months makes achieving results extremely difficult.

Strengthening


IsoStrength Complete Body Do’s

  • Isometric exercise: This is a static form of muscle building routine. You can perform this form of exercise using IsoStrength Complete Body by first choosing the muscle group you would like to work. Once you have decided, perform your first repetition and extend to the longest state of muscle and contract to a fully flexed position. Hold this position for 10 seconds. Repeat three times. You can increase the time you hold the flexed position over time as you get stronger.
  • Isotonic exercise: This is an active form of muscle building routine that is more commonly used. You can utilize isotonic exercising using IsoStrength Complete Body by first choosing the muscle group you would like to work on. Once you have decided, perform your first repetition and extend to the longest state of muscle and contract to a fully flexed position. Continue to extend and contract and proceed with as many repetitions as comfortable. With continued use your workouts will increase gradually.

  • Immediately stop performing any exercise if you reach a point of discomfort. Go to the point where you feel mild tension and then hold in place (Isometric) or repeat the exercise in repetitive fashion (Isotonic).
  • Do a little every day and gradually increase your strengthening ability and you will see results.
  • Be consistent. Develop a full body workout routine using IsoStrength Complete Body for a few minutes each day and you will gradually build strength.
  • Using strengthening devices in a non-routine manner every few weeks or months makes achieving results extremely difficult.
